Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi – Santa Fe, NM
Sometimes, it seems like you can’t have a proper vacation without visiting a religious building of some sort! Cathedrals, temples, etc… from Europe to Asia, all the way to Santa Fe, New Mexico!
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi checked that box off for us (although we did also stop by Loretto Chapel to view the famous stairs). The Basilica was built in the late 1800s, but due to the Romanesque Revival architecture, the building feels like a 12th century cathedral.
Our visit coincided with Lent – hence the purple draping around the altar.
I loved the contrast of these etched windows, with the vibrant stained glass behind.
